As if next year's dream crossover Street Fighter X Tekken wasn't tantalizing enough, Capcom revealed some new details that will make the wait for the game more painstaking than a 30-hit combo.
According to TheSixthAxis, Capcom sent out a fact sheet to press outlets revealing some key features of the upcoming fighter. While it was already revealed that Street Fighter X Tekken would be 2-on-2 fighter in the vein of Tekken Tag Tournament, the press release noted that the game would allow 4-player combat. Speaking of four players, the game will feature a "Scramble mode," which will allow four fighters fighting on-screen at once. Sure, it might not see any serious tournament play, but how fun is it going to be to see a bunch of your favorite characters from both games beating the crap out of each other in a chaotic frenzy?
The game will feature "Pandora Mode" a mechanic in which a player can sacrifice their partner in order to temporarily make their main character more powerful. It brings to mind the "X-Factor" mechanic from Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and should make for some really interesting comebacks.
While it doesn't sound too exciting, the most groundbreaking new feature to be included in Street Fighter x Tekken is the online training mode. It may sound boring, but it's never been done in a modern fighter, and the experience a novice player can gain from training with a pro halfway across the country is invaluable.
The trailer highlighting these new features can be seen here, and if you're a serious fan of either franchise, be prepared to keep your jaw from hitting the floor. Hard.
