Devestating flood

Many of you may realize that I am from NEPA (Susquehanna County) and lived in Binghamton, NY for over 20 years until we moved to Florida

My heart is just breaking for all those that have been flooded once again.  In 2006 it was called the 100 year flood after major rains in June.

A short 5 years later Tropical Storm Lee has dropped over 10 inches of rain on the area and the Susquehanna River, of which I grew up on and around, has flooded its banks again.

Many of my friends and people I have worked with have lost everything, a second time.

Please keep them in  your prayers...

Oh it must be terrible for them. I can see you going through changes, the first flood. Then to get back on your feet and have it happen again where you lose everything, must be devastating.

I just cannot imagine all the heartbreak of having to go through these devastating floods, not just once, but twice.....having to start all over again two times.......and losing all of one's prized possessions that can never be replaced. I've watched the news coverage (when our t.v. was working) and would just sit and cry, as my heart just ached for all those poor, poor people.

Where I went to for High School was flooded and many have lost their homes, in New Jersey. One home exploded and the fire department was in rafts using a hand pump using flood waters to put the fire out. Fire hydrants? Under flood waters. It breaks my heart too.

This is just so Sad! I know that this must give you a lot of Grief!

I've kept up with it on the news and it's just heartbreaking. So many catastrophes this year.

Oh yes....we were flooded 2 yrs ago....it is not fun at all. OUr county is still trying to get things fixed, even after all this time.

Prayers out to all of those affected, I know our Principal was helping out in another county and he said in one area where there were I believe 26 houses 20 of them were not even there anymore, and the others ones will have to be rebuilt as well, and then he gave a great speech about what is really important, life, family, friends, and community.
