Apparently, in 1958 and onward, the American public have been "ripe" for experimentation and rebellion.
God, or, spirituality, should be first on the list offered on the video, not last. Therein lies the problem. Where there is Divine Wisdom, all goes well.
Jesus has said, Prepare in face of everything. Many "patriots" think this means food storage. They are mistaken.
Clearly not all people are grounded in the Spirit. I would suspect neither were you, at all junctures of your human life? People come to God at different times and under different influences and with varying levels of understanding at any given time. Likewise, with various degrees of grounding.
I think every society of mankind is "ripe" when this much diabloical plotting, planning and subliminal energy is increasingly poured into it over such a prolonged span of time. That is the nature of mankind.
I've been curious about the order of these listings myself. So I wrote it down in the order they appeared in the film:

There is likely no other logic than ease for a Communist authors' numerical sequence. IMHO, this film's numerical sequence uses the progression of how & what happened when, to prepare for the next step. Because they all go to God's Book, that is the last recap and has no meaning other than to capsule all of the others, i.e., only after you've accomplished the pieces can the last one become possible. And, as we've seen, that is exactly how it did transpire.
You're right, Ben, in a perfect world none of this would've been possible. As we all know, our world is far from a perfect one. The lessons you bring to this are critical ones. The items I refer to needing reversal in the order given are "politics, morality, and spirituality." If the people of the world do not learn to identify with their spiritual nature first, we shall continue to manifest the world-wide dangers through ignorance that we are witnessing today.
When people describe who they are in the world, they most often give their party affiliation, nationality, vocation, etc.---Rarely do you hear someone say that they are a child of God.
The rub is in the fact that few are willing to renounce the world in order to spiritually clarify and discern their role in it.
Renouncement is repentence. Not much of that is happening.
A complete surrender to the Divine Love and Guidance available to us is necessary.
A life of spirit must come first before one of either morality or politics.

Ben - Would it be appropriate to add that we give life to the world's body? It's not a corpse yet.
Mari - I think what Ben means is we should not 'worship' the world. We can live in the world and interact in the world and be a part of the world and we should bring His light into the world ... but we shouldn't value the world that we live in over God.
Then, let your faith always include forgiveness for the trespasses of others. That is the way God loves and so must we, if peace is to ever come to individuals, and then, to the world.

The possessive of "its" often transposes the apostrophe, its' correct use most certainly is acceptable with an apostrophe as I've just demonstrated. It is very easy to transpose the apostrophe, even when one knows better.
If you've come to be a Leftist picayune diversion, don't bother. You take away from the seriousness of this very serious issue, but, then again, perhaps you've met your goal.
As for Jews, perhaps they take that staunch of a position about their religion, but I don't find "religion" as the key issue. Much as demonstrated in New York just this week, I think the Jews more adamantly support their identity with what once was the Democrat party, in terms of demonstrating an empathy for the underdogs in society, but mosstly as influenced by the horrific sufferings the Jews underwent in WWII.
As for banks and power & money being at the core of all corruption, that usually is the case in any situation. Going to America having one Big Government of two factions that are both heading us in the same direction just using different facades to do it, I tend to agree with that. Yes, absolutely, dividing America with class warfare and racism, among other things, is certainly a most prominant factor in how they work things.
True Americans are much wiser now. We are taking a very active role in fighting against the atrocities we see in this government. The Tea Party has been a major Voice of ours, giving us the options we now have to replace Old Repub Progressives as well as the Democrats and clean this place out. Hopefully it holds true to those values, which are our values.

The film builds to a crescendo from Bowers' apocryphal Commie Party meeting to his purported "list of Communist goals" drawn from the book, The Naked Communist. But The Naked Communist is a specious collection of claims from ultra-right-wing Cleon Skousen, who was a supporter of the John Birch Society, promoter of the Mormons (and defender of their former policy of barring Blacks from the priesthood), anti-Communist (who habitually accused anyone who opposed the associations he supported of being Communist-inspired), and promoter of right-wing politics like privatizing Social Security and eliminating federal taxes.
The film is an attempt to use fear and ridiculous associations to promote divisiveness in public discourse. Teabaggers reportedly love it. At a California showing, 18-year-old Lindsey Livoni reportedly said “I think the movie is very real. … And I think the movie is very scary.†This echoes something a commenter said in Fren's earlier post about the film ("That's pretty scary, Fren.") A Move-On coordinator at the same meeting, Zoe Lane, said “They blatantly use peoples' faith to guilt them and scare them into supporting a specific political ideology. … And I think that's very wrong. There is nothing in Christianity that tells you to hate and fear your neighbor the way this film promoted, with such lines as, and I believe this is a direct quote, ‘These are not just people with different ideas, they are a dangerous, dangerous enemy, intent on overthrowing the country.’ And to not see how they are the ones taking a page right out of the Fascism playbook, I mean, the lack of self-awareness among this crowd would be laughable if it weren't so disturbing.â€
Your critique is your critque alone and nothing more. You have far less credibility and back-up for your statements than Bowers' experience in Congress and the very real facts he presents through several other people, all of them also considerably more experienced and accomplished than yourself.

As a reward I share this: Having run in circles of preparing important work, one of the very first things I noticed about Mr. Bowers' video is the sources were not as strong as I'd like to have seen them. But they are credible and they are reliable and they are impressive ... and they are truthful.

But it is certainly true that the lies, distortions, and demonizing of public figures trumpeted by Fox News has helped countless people "see" things differently. There is not enough space to discuss all the policy issues raised by your post. Understanding the techniques of propaganda that are used to promote hatred and fear, is worthwhile, however.

You're not making clear what your position on the goal listings is: Is it that the goals cited in the book were in fact not taken from communist materials; that they are not communist documented goals; or are you saying they are communist goals but it was just happenstance society realized them depsite the fact that they are communist goals; or are you saying Bowers contrived the whole thing as some outlandish conspiracy against communists and nothing and no one in the film is what it is? These are easy questions, see if you answer them.

I offered that the "school prayer" issue is not a battle between Communists and anti-Communists, but rather a question of constitutional rights.
I offered that "gay rights" are not an issue either of the degeneracy of society or a struggle between Communist and anti-Communist camps, but a civil rights issue.
What I'm saying is that one can differ on the issues, but to try to force them into a "Communist agenda" is absurd and unproductive. It's tantamount to hate speech. That's the problem I have with the video, and that's the problem I have with your promotion of the video.
What's the importance of Bower's credibility (and that of the man whose work he drew on in order to come up with his idiotic propositions)? It's a free country, and anyone, even an inexperienced, unelected former state representative who happens to be an uninformed right-wing whack job, can say whatever they want. But even if it sounds real good to me, I like to see whether there is any credibility to what they say. Do they have an understanding of history? Politics? Public discourse? There was nothing about The Naked Communist that appealed to the liberal press. Look Magazine for March 13, 1962, said the popular reception of this book was “fabulous because [it] was never reviewed by the New York Times, the New York Herald Tribune or the Saturday Review, the three musts in the field,” yet it was selling “1,000 copies a day and is now in its 11th printing.”
It is interesting that the principal attraction of the book was the fact that it was comprehensive, carefully documented and easy to understand.
It was equally interesting that the liberals who attempted to discredit the contents of the book never found factual errors, misrepresentations, or false conclusions which they could refute with documentation. Instead they resorted to ad hominem attacks. Seldom would they employ respectable terms.

Not really. Never had to read it in school but I finally got around to it a couple of years ago. Lucifer is the most fully developed character. Milton seemed most interested in him.
BTW, I think Alinsky had it wrong. Lucifer was the first revolutionary. There's a difference between radicalism and being a revolutionary. They sometimes go together but there's no reason that they have to. The American Revolution was a middle and upper class revolution. The farmers, merchants, and manufacturers didn't care for the tariff and trade restrictions the British, and most other countries, imposed on their colonies.
Lucifer was one kind and Jesus was another ... each had their following and enemies ... in the final analysis it is all up to GOD because most "normal" people have no real concept of what was actually involved in any case.

Because the argument this one posed was so redundantly mundane, I had no idea anything was even removed. Leave it to the whiners to use others to do their dirty work because they aren't legitimate enough to do their own.

Those Communist goals include such things as undermining marriage & family; promoting sexual promiscuity; infiltrating churches, etc., this quote from Joseph Stalin sums it up best: "America is like a healthy body and its' resistance is threefold: It's patriotism, it's morality and its' spiritual life. Do all of my links read "Post Unavailable" or can you give me an example of one that does? They should display okay so this confuses me? None are flagged now and I'm not sure which post it is that you refer to? If I can be of more help let me know, I'm curious about this? I need to know which one to be able to email it?
