Social Media and The "Famous"

Have you ever interacted with anyone "famous" on a Social Media Site? Was the experience good or bad?

On 3 seperate occasions (and I was pretty shocked by them all) I have, all 3 times with authors.

The first was Sarah Pekkanen (author of Skipping a Beat and The Opposite of Me) and Facebook. I had replied to one of her comments, and she responded back.

The second, I tweeted that I was reading Here, Home, Hope by Kaira Rouda and loving it. She retweeted and responded to me that she was loving that I was loving it.

And most recently, Stephanie Stiles commented on the review I posted on Goodreads of her book Take It Like a Mom.

Maybe I'm just goofy, but I like that some authors (and other "celebs") take the time to respond. It just shows me that they are down to earth and truly appreciate their fans.

Never on the web. (But then I count Sy Garte as famous) Only in person. It was usually quite an ordinary experience.

Met Michael Jackson in person when he visited Jamaica. Did not expect him to be that shy, but he was extremely nice and readily relaxed if you treated him as an ordinary person.

It was really cool. I got to just chat with him, making small talk then he introduced me to his mom (boy she's good looking!!!) then to Janet and Latoya.

Others however were excited that he was there and he shut himself in the vehicle. All he ever desired was to be treated like a normal person.

I haven't gotten responses from celebrities through the internet, but when I was younger I use to write and have gotten responses from celebrities through the regular mail.

I used to do that too. I was so exited when I got an autographed picture from Scott Wolf lol

No but I have talked to a few in person, like Al Roper, Olek Krupa, the son in law from Archie Bunker, and a few others, I am really bad with names. I never treated them any different because everyone wants to get their picture with them, although I wish I did, I still have memories of selling them their tickets and gettting them their treats if they ordered, and maybe even conversation before they left.
