I loved the crocodile stitch and loved cocoons so I decided to merge them into this Sweet Princess Cocoonghan crochet pattern ( Visit Monica Kennedy's Craftsy Pattern Store »). The delicate crocodile stitches begged for something dramatic up top thus I came up with the unique concept to evolve from cocoon to afghan. The lovely afghan topper will drape delicately around the baby as well as provide additional warmth.
What I also love about this pattern is the use of the L hook. It is larger than suggested for the yarn weight, but it works quickly, adds softness to the finished product, and also gives it a very delicate lacey appearance. It is also very good for people with eyesight issues or dexterity problems because the larger hook and stitches are easier to do.
