Genre Shorties Prompt Week 78 - Vision of the past

Your story may be serious or lighthearted or as silly as you like just so long as it is 100 words or less and written for the following prompt:

A powerful wizard left a potent potion with you for safekeeping. When he did not return at the arranged hour to collect his potion, curiosity got the better of you and you decided you would use the potion, just once. How did you use it and what happened? If possible, mention Corn Flakes or the name of a country singer in your story.

"Merlin, where ARE you?" It had been 30 days since he left me with the potion. Decided to take a sip....

A vision of a young boy in Oklahoma in 1973 named Garth appeared. Using pieces of Corn Flakes to strum his guitar, he would scowl as each flake would crumble.

Watching Hee Haw, he noticed that Roy Clark used a plastic pic to play. TA-DAH! "Mom, could I earn a dollar so I could go buy a guitar pic?"

"Sure. Wash the car. " answered Mrs. Brooks. "By the way, where is the box of Corn Flakes I bought yesterday?"

Hmmm....strumming an ear of corn against guitar strings might be one way to get the corn off the ear.... ;)
