New Project for me

Thursday was Mom's first Doll Club meeting of the season. I had forgotten, but someone there had asked her if I could finish a project for them, so Mom brought it home Thursday afternoon.

This is an old tablecloth that members of this family signed--and some of them put dates on it, too.

Some of the names and dates have already been done. Lots of Mom's Doll Club friends (such as the lady who owns the tablecloth) are older ladies, possibly the need for someone else to finish it is due to eyesight or arthritis problems.

The other night I started on one of the names and dates that had already been started on. In this case, the first name had been done, I just need to do the middle and last names. I was able to do the dates, too.

What a neat idea to make a family keepsake. I'm glad I have the opportunity to work on it. :)

Have you ever seen anything like this?

Stacey, This will be very Nice when it is done, I have seen Signature Quilts done before.

Oh, yes--now that you mention the Signature Quilts I think I have seen something like that.
I have a pen pal letter that I should start tonight, but I will get back to work on this ASAP. :)

That is really, really neat! I've seen something like that, done with quilts, in various designs/colors............I agree with Debbie, above.........what a great idea for a keepsake! That's really nice of you to offer to help with it! I'm sure you'll do great!!

that will be neat! I found a quilt top in my mom's basement from the 40's and sewing club at our church back then. Most all the names that had been embroidered on it back then were relatives. I had a lady at church finish the quilt for me and I gave it to my mom for Christmas.
