A re-post in advance of fall
Welcome to September
FEATHERED SEASONS FLOWN
© 2009 by David Wainland
Sailing on the feathered wings of summer past
Starts the turn of another autumn season
She rushes, driven by cool air out of the arctic
Sweeps through Canada with measured movements
Slips quietly into Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire
Shading the trees with her first bloom of color
Sensory overloads of red, brown and orange hues
Settles into the north dropping through Massachusetts
Slides into Connecticut, then the hills of New York
Slowly moving through the Mid Atlantic
Sent by the coming chills of winter
Shifting to yellows and parchment beige
Splashes south into Georgia
Silently pauses at the gates of Florida
Stalled by the evergreen of palm trees
Stopped by sandy beaches in the sun
Swept into ragged stacks
She dies

But I am getting depressed, I don't like cold weather :(
Too bad no one would rent to me, because of the dogs :(
I'm going to feature it on the Change of Seasons Wall on The Triple Name Club.
Thank you so much for sharing with Animal & Nature photos, videos and posts.
Thank-You! :)
