There were many beautiful hair and makeup looks at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, but it was Katy Perry’s colourful style that stole the beauty show.
Katy debuted a striking grape/pink hair colour on the red carpet that she says she has been working towards for month. Katy told fans she has been working with her colourist Rita Hazan to transform her hair from dark brown to this vibrant purple shade. Hazan said of the transformation, “It was such an exciting challenge to custom-create Katy’s color for her big reveal at the VMAs… She is a colorist’s dream — always willing to take risks to achieve a groundbreaking look — and it was awesome to be able to realize this goal for her”
Katy matched her colourful hair in a retro coif with purple eye shadow, full lashes and pink lips for the complete colourful look.
