Panasonic Lumix Settings- Film Grain

My Panasonic Lumix has 29 different settings on it and I'm just getting to try and understand them all. Today I am going to show the difference between black and white and film grain.  The first shot is black and white and the 2nd is film grain. I like them both but the film grain is so very interesting looking. I like the film grain, but I think the B&W has more definition.

ya i like the black and white best, i use film grain from time to time in my editing software but not to often, this would be great to use on still life like vases fruit etc

Neat! They do both have different qualities. I think, overall, I tend to like the softer look of black and white, but the grain can really add to certain photos.

I like the B&W best also...... film grain might look a bit more dramatic but doesn't give you the detail that B&W does...

I like the grain look a little bit more. I always like the 'dark' look of black and white photos.

I was more instinctively drawn to the film grain one at first glance because it has more contrast, but I find the first one more relaxing to stare at ... so pick your poison, I guess. ;)

I dont really care for film grain it tends to remind me of newspaper photos.

I like the black and white, because of the detail. But, but, TWENTY-NINE settings? I'd be lost with that camera. You really know what you're doing.

Interesting.

I have a sepia and a blak and white on my camera, but nothing like flimgrain. I like the effects that one made.
