Google Street View is taking on the Amazon! Yup, the ever-growing and interactive maps will now show ground (river) views of the ever-growing Amazon. So, if you have ever wondered what the lush rainforests of the South America looks like, you might get your chance.
The announcement was made on Monday. The process
of taking photos of that area is still underway and expected to finish up within three weeks. For the undertaking, Google partnered with South America's Fundacao Amazonia Sustentavel to help preserve the Amazon. The Street View will enable officials to get a 360-degree view of the forest.
However, the public is currently unable to access the photos but that may change in time. Seriously though, who wouldn't want to take a weekend visit to the Amazon from the safety of their own home. To be able to see the green, brown and blues is a unique experience that would be remarkable.
The Amazon isn't the only part of the world getting special treatment from Google. The mega-corporation is also going to be taking its Street View to Israel! Talk about expanding and innovating, right?
