Odette Annable is one of two new female doctors joining House for its eighth season on Fox, and the medical drama is hoping these new faces can help breathe enough life into the show so the network keeps it around for more.
New House season 8 character
Odette Annable has joined the cast as a doctor House meets while in prison, and somehow that leads to her becoming the newest member of his diagnostics team, along with Charlyne Yi. The team will need a female presence since Olivia Wilde is going to be in a limited number of episodes, and they're going to fill that spot. Annable has talked to TVGuide about her character, whom she insists is "a completely different character" from Cuddy and describes as "very friendly" and "very enthusiastic." Annable's character has some similarities to House, which is why it sounds like they're going to get along—at least the best that House can get along with someone. Annable has said that "much like House, she loves the puzzle, the clues and the discovery of the diagnosis." It sounds like she will fit right in with the diagnostic team at Princeton Plainsboro then in House season 8, and since she is a prison doctor, she should be able to hold her own against someone like House with no problem. She seems like just the type of person he'll need on his team once he gets out from behind bars.
Are you looking forward to seeing Odette Annable in House season 8?
House and Hugh Laurie have both been nominated for a Primetime Emmy. The Emmys air September 18th on FOX.
