A starting quarterback in the National Football League should never lack confidence but there is such a thing as too much. Eli Manning may have found that line when he proclaimed in an interview that he was every bit as good as Tom Brady of the New England Patriots. To understand the depth of that statement one must know who Brady is. He is a two-time MVP, a six-time Pro Bowler, a three-time Super Bowl champion and the quarterback of the best statistical offense in NFL history back in 2007. Tom Brady is a future Hall of Famer. Eli Manning, as of right now, is not. So why make such a statement? Is Eli crazy? Or is he flaunting that typical bravado that New Yorkers love to embrace like they did with Joe Namath?
One way or another, Manning has perked up a lot of ears and will gain a lot of fans if he can back up his talk.
