Clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch is desperate to keep their brand as far away from Jersey Shore as possible.
The trashtastic MTV cast has been offered a cash payment to never wear the store's clothes again on their hit reality show, because Abercrombie doesn't want to dilute their brand by having it associated in any way with the "stars" of the show.
The offer was made initially to Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, but it looks like Abercrombie & Fitch is happy to pay off the entire cast of Jersey Shore, including overtanned hobbit Snookie, if they are willing to refrain from ever again wearing the store's signature preppy clothes on air.
Abercrombie & Fitch released a statement Tuesday night concerning the large cash figure it had offered The Situation, which said in part "We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino's association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image...We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast."
The move is a win for Abercrombie & Fitch, who will no doubt gain quite a bit of free media thanks to calling out The Situation and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast, but a huge loss for viewers of the show, as The Situation will no doubt use his Abercrombie ban as an excuse to just walk around naked.
Good going Abercrombie.

On 5th Avenue, you can smell the stench coming out of that store from across the street and at Americana, you can be a football field away from the store and smell it. It's appalling.
Oh, not to mention the line around the corner and completely blocking the sidewalk on 5th Ave. I don't understand. These tourists are in the fashion capitol of the world, NYC, and they stand in line to get into Abercrombie?!?!?!
