While in Naples, I overlooked my balcony in the morning and would see a woman add lemons to her plants every morning. I thought it strange and have done some research on the Internet, but to no avail. Does anyone know why you would add lemon halves to plants. I don't know what type of plants they were, but they were gorgeous.
Gather has always been great for answering questions, so I thought I'd try to ask this one.

My mom used to do that for the azaleas and rhododendrons, I think that they prefer acidic soil. You could probably search for other plants that like acidic soil and find others, but I know she used to throw the lemon peels under azaleas in the front yard-I always thought she was nuts, but they were huge.
