A couple of days ago, the Republicans held a straw poll in Ames, Iowa. As to who is chosen to actually run for President by the Republican party, it means little. As to who has the momentum, and as a way to raise money, this is important.
The results of the polling came out with Michelle Bachman in the lead over the other people who are trying to win the nomination. She came up with 28.6% of the vote.
The news on Saturday night lauded her victory, pointed to the 3rd place finisher, Tim Pawlenty with 13.6%, deciding to drop out of a run for President, then went to the 4th place finisher, Rick Santorum with 9.8%, making some news about what he is going to do when the campaign continues. Then they commented on Rick Perry from Texas, and Mitt Romney from Massachusetts, who didn't even go to Iowa.
So from the evening news and the reports on Sunday morning tv, these must be the front runners and the only people we need to consider.
But wait a minute, what about the 2nd place vote getter. Ron Paul, who was pushing the ideals of the new TEA party back in the late 80s and 90s, who was fighting against overspending and pork barrel spending by the Congress, and who has never in any of his times in Congress, signed up for the matching pension that all the other Congressmen, save one, sign up for to get equal benefits as they receive now as Congressmen. Ron Paul received 27.7% of the vote, or 0.9% less then Michelle Bachman.
He has voted against any bill that would raise spending or taxes. Has voted against Congressional pay raises every year, voted against anything that gave Congress and the government more power then they are supposed to have from the Constitution of the United States of America. He is one man who is standing up for the people of the United States, and not big business, or the politicians.
But still the liberal media, and the right wing network, ignore him. They hope he goes away. I for one will be backing him and doing my best to get the word out about Ron Paul.
Why are they afraid of the little man from Texas?
Should they be afraid?
I think maybe they should.

You might enjoy Jon Stewart's video on this.
WOW! You were right. I did enjoy Stewart's video. Thanks.
Why does FOX News fear Ron Paul? What is with this big money propaganda machine?
I am now far more impressed by Ron Paul than I was before. (I thought he was pretty good before.) This really rattles my cage. Maybe there's hope after all.
Where can I get a "What part of Ron Paul don't you get?" tee shirt? (Or should I spell that "Tea shirt"?)
"They" own the Media all of MSM, especially FOX which is "their flagship" ... but the others also as part of the plan to give the "divided" nation each a supposed place to find truth ... NOT !
Ron Paul will never get traction as long as people are so impressed by the media they watch, the owners will always editorialize in their own favor ... believe it or not but the present pres is one of "their" boys ... until enough of us wake up to the way we are all manipulated, nothing will change for the better for us.

You are on the button.
I quite agree that the voters should become aware of Ron Paul and what he is advocating. That would be an eye-opening revelation to many of them.
Another reason why the MSM is becoming less relevant every day.
If these so called Tea Party candidates, like Bachmann, Palin, and the many others who are really Republicans making empty promises of change, were truly concnered about our liberties, the economy, and big government, they would have thrown their support to Ron Paul. Instead, they modified or diluted the movement, as Ron Paul says here, for their own selfish purposes to use it as a springboard for their own neo-con platforms of promising change that isn't really change at all.
Becuase these candidates gave the Tea Party such emphasis, many people thought and still do think that the movement was created and funded by right-wing political money. The initiation of the Tea Party movement was not at all a part of that machine. It belonged to Ron Paul and his supporters, and it has been grossly misrepresented, tainted and usurped with these opportunists.
On Bachmans win lets put a little perspective on that.
She got 4,800 votes and handed out 6,000 free tickets. So it would seem that she cant even buy votes properly.
Actually this article is about the media being "afraid" sweetie...
I went to the Iowa Straw Poll just to see Ron Paul. Michelle was not impressive at all. She briefly made an appearance but Dr Paul stood outside his tent pretty much the whole time I was there and talked to people.
Is this hope related to hope and change? Doesn't look like things will be working out for you dancing queens...
The objective statistics say he is a viable candidate.
