1.  John Conyers speaking at Democratic Socialists of America meeting: apparently in order to energize them If you can't get the vid to work for you within this article, try it from the youtube site directly, or try it here (on the Vimeo site), or on any one of several sites on the web.  Another site, US Political Post, has some commentary as well as a copy of the video. Here are some excerpts from that commentary:
On the video Conyers says, "So I come to you this afternoon, to first of all, thank you for coming to the March [One Nation 10-02-10] – this is an important event.†Conyers also takes a poke at the President (Obama) when he says, "I believe we should organize and unite around and make it clear to him through all the usual means of communication including: picketing, protest – making it clear to him that there probably isn’t anyone above the 10th grade who doesn’t know that you can’t win a war in Afghanistan.†Two of my posts related to the ONR participants on Gather: One Nation Working Together Rally of October 2, 2010 Someone Said the One Nation Rally was the Antithesis of the Restoring Honor Rally   2.  Then there is Howard Dean and his total acceptance of and intwined beliefs with (according to him anyway) the Party of European Socialists in a video conference call:

I think this might be Conyer's last year or two up there on the hill (and is his wife still in jail I wonder? - might have to look that up if I have time).
In any case he always seems like he has such a hard time speaking ... but he is passionate about certain things; and talk about detail oriented . He took time out of his own schedule to thank these people ... imagine that. Thanking Socialists for their help ... it's like thanking the devil for the light (when it's actually the flames of hell).
What a great analogy! "it's like thanking the devil for the light"
I tell you, Lee, if a man cannot control his own home he has NO business trying to dictate to our county and mankind. I am SO sick of these types making decisions that effect me. This was right before the healthcare bill, I wonder if the FBI ever took it farther?
As much news as I watch, I either forgot I saw this because it was so typical or they sure didn't make much of it. When one hand is waving in the air we need to be watching the other very closely. Thanks for posting more info.
Thanks Marilyn!
This one goes hand in hand with the post you and I had so much trouble with lol To Flock or not to Flock
Yeah, Norman. Isn't that a hoot and half (a dark kindof hoot).
Check it out here. From that link, here are a couple of paragraphs from the summary of the legislation:
I agree 'we' don't need more bureaucracy. But for Socialists that's the be all and end all supreme so good thing ... more bureaucracy.
And if you look at the thing it will create jobs (er, for the bureauocrats that is ... and it will probably also create more public-sector paid-by-taxing-us jobs ... which we also don't need).
Of what- I assume you mean their association with openly socialist groups. Both parties- but especially the Democrats, support quite a bit of socialism, sadly. Usually they are afraid to call it that. So I guess they are exceptions in one way, and examples in another?
Yes to your first statement.
Agreed to your second.
In regard to your third statement, "Exactly!" (they are afraid to admit to who they are).
And yes, both of these guys could be exceptions as well as examples.
Exceptions as far as admitting it - however I'm not sure they actually thought these would be picked up for public consumption lol So not really sure if they are true exceptions or not.
But they are both most certainly examples of something that goes much deeper.
For example the DSA used to have a list of Congressional members on it's website --- that was expunged as soon as it was made public. In addition, I have a vague memory of reading an article some years ago in which Hilary was proudly standing either under or behind a banner with DSA emblazoned on it. That also is now nowhere to be found.
Funny how that works. They want to continue sneeking Socialist stuff into our government but, like those suicide bomber guys who wrap kaffiyeh around their heads covering their faces, most DSA members and other Socialist types keep their "faces" (their true identity) swathed in a cloth of secrecy, web scrubs, and derision of anyone who happens to stumble on to their actual indentity.
Both parties? Surely.

Thanks Teri.
But the natural impulse of government is to grow. Let's not forget that happens under both parts of the dupoly (Depts of Education, Veteran Affairs, and Homeland Sec came under who?)
Even if they are not the main ... yet, as you say ... they have the support of most of their peers (the elite) one way or another. +sigh+ :(
I think there are more of them than they are even yet ready to admit ... could be they take their cues from fire ants who amass themselves stealthily, without their victim even knowing (until it's too late)... and they don't generally sting until they have many of their friends in position all up and down which ever limb they happen to attack. Then they all sting at once. =========

I don't think these people are the Dem main but their ideas have the support of many of their elite.
