I have been reading about vampires, and I have found some interesting facts. Do you know about the Susan Walsh case? She was a reporter for the "Village Voice" in the Village, and she was investigating a vampire group in the heart of New York City. She disappeared in 1996 and has never been heard from again.
Vampires have been blamed, but the truth of the matter seems to be that she was a practicing vampire herself. Her disappearance may have been staged, but the study of vampires is interesting. They are basically what we would call Gothic. They have found a place for themselves whereby they can be rebels with a cause.
I have done some studying of Dracula, and the subject interests me. With the latest trend of "Twilight" movies, kids and adults have renewed fascination with vampires, but even more interesting is that during a recession or depression, the economic downturn in the economy brings about new interest in horror as it did in the thirties with horror films. Just some bloody food for thought.
