My treasured memory

She taught me what love really is, its pure without a hidden agenda. Its unconditional, even when she didn't get what she wanted. She gave and I learned to love in the same way. I will always treasure the time I had with her. It was a long time for her but a fleeting moment for me. I think God created dogs to live just long enough to teach us what the meaning of love is so we can then love others in the same way. Now I've loved and been loved by several more sweet dogs who were my loyal companions for all their lives. Thank you God.

 

 

 

 

 

Everyday after work I'd try to spend time playing with her, at nite they would watch TV with me til we fell asleep. They were my buddies for more than 18 years.

Thank you, yes I was. I am again with my sorta new family. Mykey, my profile pic, is 8 yrs, Ally is 8 months & my kitty Boobear is 5 yrs. I hope I can afford to add another life to my zoo, but I'm waiting til Ally is 2 yrs.

Misty (our older dog) is getting to that age where the arthritis bothers her and the vet has suspected tumors for some time. We can feel a growth in her belly by palpating. But she still has a lot of life and love left in her yet. I dread when the day will come that we'll have to say goodbye to her.

LOLOLOL, yep, she's still got some spunk. Maybe its not the kind of tumor thats dangerous, mom is 94 and has growths here & there but its just her age. Lets face it, dogs are just human, right? LOL

Your right, there's nothing like the unconditional love they give us to humble us. I hope I was good enough for her, but as you know, there are always those guilty feelings we are left with.

i know what you mean we all cried when our dog beonca had to be put to sleep we had her for about 10 years it was so sad

My condolences, its the hardest thing we do and I always end up feeling so guilty, even though the Vet always tells me I had helped my baby by not letting her suffer. I'm sure your still feeling a little guilty, I know I was after I put her down.

One of the hardest things to go through is the loss of a beloved pet. I have been through it several times and it is a struggle but I'm so thankful for the time I had with them and thankful that I love pets enough to give even more a loving home. Maybe I should say they give me a loving home.

I like the way you said that. They do make my home loving, no matter what I give they always seem to give so much more. I too have lost more than just these three, all have been precious to me and all have taught me something new about the true nature of love.

I know how you feel, these guys helped me raise those I have now in one way or another, Spunky helped raise Mykey who in turn is helping me raise Ally and Boobear.

Thank you so much for your kind sentament, I am lucky however, Gracie helped raise Spunky and Sofie and they both helped me raise Mykey and he is now helping me raise Boobear and Ally. I feel like I still have them in a way.

Brought tears to my eyes. very beautiful. I've lost a few best friends over the years. I can't even think about my Daisy leaving me. She's been the Bestest friend so far.

Aren't they all though? All I can really do is share my experience with them, they gave me so much love, joy and entertainment ... of course I dread losing Mykey or Ally or Boobear, but I think the Great Spirit intended for people to know true love and the loss of that love due to the shorter life span, I can only pray I have given them as much love, joy and entertainment as they did me.
