Taking kids shopping is sometimes a nerve-wracking experience. No one will ever forget the 1981 abduction of the child, Adam Walsh, from a store in Florida. His father started the show America's Most Wanted due to that incident. And now, decades later, crimes against children are still occurring in stores. A girl was recently sexually molested in a thrift store in Maryland.
Parents must keep strangers away from children while out shopping. Even in the friendliest of stores, someone with evil intent could be lurking about looking for an opportunity for crime.
Attack on a Child
The incident occurred in the Unique Thrift Store at Veirs Mill Road in Silver Spring, Montgomery County, Maryland. This is a large store. Nonetheless, it is astonishing that a predator would molest a child in the middle of a store. The man molested the girl at around 7 p.m. He is now wanted for allegedly touching the girl's clothing in her genital region several different times.
Video of the Suspect
The store has released a video tape of the alleged suspect. He is wearing two different shirts during his time in the store. If you recognize him, notify the police at 240-773-5400 or call Crime Solvers at 866-411-8477.
The girl now has a lot to deal with. The incident will probably severely impact her feeling of safety. Hopefully the police will capture the man quickly. It is alarming indeed that he is now on the loose.
