I’ve been a Republican and a Conservative since IKE. I also helped Nixon get elected and have voted for almost every Republican since Nixon, but never helped any since Nixon as he showed me what corruption does to people. I have been jaded since those times and have looked more closely at the people that ran. However, the principles of freedom of religion, free speech, fiscal conservative principles and the right to bear arms are the reason that I was and am a republican.
However, the first time I didn’t vote for the republican was voting for Bob Dole, I voted for Ralph Nader as I couldn’t vote for Clinton. Then came George W. Bush who failed at every job he ever did, and I just couldn’t vote for him, as I thought he would fail as the President, which in my opinion he did fail. So I voted for Ralph and someone else I don’t remember who. There was no way that I could vote for John McCain, I didn’t like him, and I didn’t like his positions on the issues, so I voted for Obama. I didn’t like what Obama said and I didn’t like the ideas that he seemed to have in the history of his work experience in Chicago, but I thought he would be a lot better that John McCain.
Michele Bachmann is my current Congressman and I do not like her and her stand against the homosexual community, and the fact that she needs to spend days in the hospital for Migraines.
I haven’t a clue who I’ll support next as Freedom of religion is my current problem on the issues side of things and fiscal conservatism is the second issue I think is extremely important for the country. I have said many times what needs to be done in the Health Care issue and will not say anything here about that. However, the administration of all the Federal departments need to be streamlined to save money, and in my opinion many Federal Employees are paid for doing worthless jobs.

There's no perfect candidate and no one is perfect. We can only choose who we believe reflects good character. When in doubt, error on the side of caution. There's plenty of time to land on a candidate. The most important thing is to vote when that time comes.
I don't think electability is very important, compared to who the candidate is and what he stands for.
