Celina Cass has been missing from her Stewartstown, New Hampshire home for almost a week. A female body was found Monday in the dam that spans the Connecticut River between Stewartstown and Canaan, Vermont. The body has not yet been identified.
According to a report from the Bangor Daily News, after divers searched the waters on Monday, they surfaced and then proceeded to block off a portion of the area. They asked the media to leave.
Celina Cass disappeared on July 25. Just 11 years old, the community has joined authorities is turning the small town and its adjacent regions upside down in a search for this child.
It probably won't take too long for authorities to determine and to announce whether or not the female body found is that of Celina Cass. It would be quite a coincidence, however, were the body to wind up not being hers.
One major question will remain--even if this is Celina Cass's body that's been discovered--and that is how did the little girl die? Was it an accidental drowning or was something far more sinister in play?
