Heidi Fleiss has gladly traded prostitutes for parrots. Frankly, that decision was probably made easier by the fact that prostitutes are illegal and parrots are not. Heidi's new passion has been chronicled in a special for Animal Planet and will air
on July 31st at 10 PM.
Speaking about her new passion, Fleiss said, "It is weird. But it's weird to be a Hollywood madam and it's weird to, at 13, have a babysitting ring of 30 girls."
If there's one thing you can say about Heidi, it's that she is honest. She can be brutally honest even if it means throwing herself under the bus. Fleiss proved that she's a truly brilliant person with a drug addiction on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew season 3. She came all out and told it like it was. She was sharp and precise with her thoughts and actions. In the end, it looks like (at least for now) Heidi has won out over her crystal meth addiction.
She is hoping that her Animal Planet special will raise awareness and funds to help preserve parrots in the wild. Currently, Fleiss has 20 rescued Macaws living with her. Speaking about the animals, Heidi said, "No one gives any money to birds — no one. I want people to understand and to really get a feel for these birds and what happened," she later added. "They are extraordinary creatures. And hopefully [I will] make a difference with the plight of the Macaw."
However, Heidi Fleiss was also honest about her cravings but stated that her parrots were what keep her in-line. Fleiss said, "I love that white trash drug, that crystal meth — I love it. My lungs, they're pure. All they have is the smog of LA. I would never smoke it. My veins — oh, they're pure. I would sniff it. Don't ask me why. Disgusting."
Fortunately, it seems that, at least for the time being, Heidi Fleiss has managed to push her disgusting addiction aside to tend to her parrots. Seriously, it is better to be a bird lady than to be a cracked out tweeker.

Birds are way cooler than the dope though.
