An apology

7/23/11

To my "friends" and fellow group members:

I've by-passed a lot of posts, photos, friend invites and comments the past few weeks.

There is no "excuse", but there is a reason.

I've been very preoccupied with personal matters. I'm trying to move. I've been on Whidbey Island off the coast of Washington State since March. I was opposed to coming to Washington altogether, and have come to know that living on an Island is not so friendly. It's difficult to meet people, and learning where to do the best grocery shopping, get a manicure, go to dinner (or a movie) is a challenge.

I'm still living out of boxes, my dog Sadie and I were attacked on July 2nd by two dogs in our own neighborhood. Everything is difficult to get to.

And the weather? To put it in grown up words IT SUCKS!

So, bear with me, please.

I'll snap out of it!

Sadie had her stitches removed Wednesday, and got a note from the vet for the Okey-Dokey to go to the pretty Parlor Monday!

Sadie gets to go to the groomer tomorrow, and I think I found a new place to live. Those are BIG improvements!

Hey, hon, good luck with that. I moved to Oregon from New Hampshire and lasted 5 years before the dismal weather drove me back east. It's all such pretty country, but so depressing and most of the homes are scented delicately (or not so delicately) with mold.

I'm rootin' for ya.

Joann, I've only been in Washington since March. I'm leaving the island and going "across the Sound" to the mainland. I movedhere from the California Monterey Peninsula (long story)
I promised my sister I'd give it at least a year. It's gonna be a long winter.

She & hubby live 18 minutes on the ferry from me.
I was life-threatening ill 2 years ago. Since my family thinks I can't care for myself anymore, Washington was better than Los Angeles, Sacramento or Oregon. This was the best of all evils.

Ah. Loving relatives are a blessing, but, at times, the blessing is a teeny bit mixed, but you love them and they love you and that's what it's about.
