It seems that Emma Watson is not done with magic and mythical creatures just yet. The Harry Potter star is lined up to star in a Beauty and the Beast remake directed by Guillermo del Toro, according to Crazy, Stupid, Love producer Denise Di Novi.
As if Watson wasn't busy enough. The Hollywood "It"-girl has been photographed at every H-Pots promotional event and premiere, not to mention her photo shoot for Vogue and departure from Brown University. It's a big whirlwind for a regular 21-year-old.
The star has also already finished shooting My Week with Marilyn with Kenneth Branagh and Michelle Williams, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower with Logan Lerman and Paul Rudd, post-Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Regrettably, this new del Toro project may not happen until 2013. The Brit starlet could definitely find other projects to fill her time with until then (perhaps a campaign or two?).
According to filmonic.com, del Toro (pictured below) originally wanted to film an adaptation of Disney's Maleficent, a live-action movie focusing on the evil villain from The Sleeping Beauty. When that fell through last month, however, he moved on to retelling Disney's story of the Belle and the beast.
Watson has all the makings of a potential Belle: beautiful, intelligent, and a great actress. However, would there be singing in this fairytale venture? The public hasn't heard Watson's pipes yet. And who would be the beast? Maybe a Hugh Jackman-type would do.
