Do you delete Gather friends?

I was just scrolling through my Gather friends and realized there is LOTS that do not comment at all and there are some that hasn't posted a picture or post in a LONG time.

Do you delete those friends that do not comment or are not active?

I have mixed feelings. I feel I am doing something mean if I delete them. I was just wondering how you felt.

No. The ones who aren't active could be busy and might pop back in.

That is what I thought and I don't think it causes any problems letting them just be friends with us. Thanks for the comment.

I see no reason to delete them...they may return...they may not...but it's not like it is doing any harm by keeping them as a friend...

Now, I do delete facebook friends from time to time to keep my list over there in control ;)

I have deleted about three, not because they were inactive, but because they only wrote posts and never interacted. I just decided that they could do without me. I had posted comments on their stuff for over a year.

Once way back, I went through and deleted people that hadn't logged on in over a year or something like that. It took so long to do, I haven't tried again though, LOL.

It did, from what I remember it isn't exactly a user friendly process, LOL. Like a few other things in here I might add... ;-)

No I do not delete anyone. Sometimes the "Gather Update Changes" deletes people on my list but I usually discover who has been dropped and then I add them again. Actually I DID delete two people .... one lady told me I was mean and another lady told me that I certainly was not a Christian .... LOL, so I dropped them. I've found that if you don't agree with everyone then they think you are either (a) mean, or (b) not a Christian .... LOL. I decided not to bother them again and the best way to not make the mistake was to delete them from my list. There are lots of people on my list who are no longer active but they aren't calling me names or telling me I'm mean .... LOL!

I myself have over 600 friends on this site. And, often forget who is my friend and who isn't...
Even if I don't forget, it is a bit hard to comment on over 600 members. For, if you're like me, you have a life outside Gather. Lol. And, I only comment on people's posts that I have entered into my, "Contact me when they make posts" lists.

If you want to delete someone, pull up the list of your friends, go into friend settings, and select remove. Personally, I haven't felt I had to do that ... someone might come back after being going a while, after all (I have one friend who was gone come back after just over a year, so it does happen).

I've deleted people for being rude and obnoxious, but not because they weren't active. I did have someone who had been gone for about 18 months pop back in a week or so ago. Maybe she wouldn't have contacted me I had deleted her.

I've deleted some I had issues with which I think was only one actually. I figure some just don't comment but they view, I even do that sometimes. Others may be busy doing something else

They usually don't, except when you've become accustomed to their content and then realize you haven't seen anything from a while.

I had a guy on my list who deleted me. I didn't notice as a lot of people come and go and I just assumed he was on vacation, etc. But, when I was going through my group posts, I noticed he was still posting! So, I friend requested him again. He may have thought I wasn't looking at his posts or something since I don't always comment or recommend.

I deleted one or 2 but that was a long time ago , you know sometimes gather has done updates and I find friends missing from my list ,I just go back and reconnect if I can remember or see that they are gone

I have my own way of adding people and deleting them. If I get a strange vibe at all they are gone. Adding them is a process for me. I am pretty open and since anyone on Gather can really see your posts I am not too picky but doesn't mean I have to friend everyone. I like to get to know my freinds like my own friends near by, a bond if you will. There are some that I just view their stuff in hopes they view mine but most are people I look forward to hearing from and interacting with.

I have a lot of friends but Ive been with gather a long time some of those friends have been gone for years but I keep them in their because one good friend of mine just came back to gather and I'm so happy she did . The only things about some of my friends that makes me sad is I'm posting up a lot of stuff and I see their posts and comment but instead of looking at my posts for today they go in my pictures and find something to comment on from years ago . I really would rather they look at my current posts , Ive even considered deleting most of my photos because of this and have deleted a bunch . I would so much rather someone look at my posts than my pictures

when I view peoples stuff I tend to try to keep up with currant stuff and then fit in at least one person a day to view some of their oldest stuff. Helps me get to know them.

Many on my list do not appear to be active, and most are some from my early days of Gathering. My list isn't overly long (under a 100) and I have only deleted one person since being a member. It really doesn't make much difference deleting or keeping unless you've had a real issue with that person. So I never bothered with it except for that one time a couple of years ago.

I haven't really deleted anyone in a long time or that often. Only time I ever delete someone is that I don't like (and not interested in) seeing their content, they're rude and obnoxious to me, or they never interact with me in any way shape or form. Usually, it has to be a combination of all of the above and not just one reason. Some people never comment, but they view.

I have thought about it. I get people's discussions and some of them are talking about their points and how they want people to comment to their discussions - and yet they've never commented on one of my posts or pictures ever. And I'm like, seriously? Try responding to the people you requested to be on your friend list before you beg people for points. Because if someone is on my list, I get their posts, and I always respond. But I keep them on my list. Because even if they can't manage to get themselves over to my stuff, if I answer to theirs, I'm still earning points for it. So I try not to let it matter.

hi dear Cathie I dont dlelete friends. I am not too active on gather myself as I am only home over the weekend and only have internet connection then so gather always is the last place where I follow up but I keep discussions I find interesting with the intention of getting back to them. I think you never know what others go through so I wont delete anyone.
