After your closet is clear of all items that can go elsewhere, it’s time to evaluate your shoes. If you find that some of your shoes are in need of repair, you should either get them fixed or simply discard them. If you own uncomfortable shoes or those which are either out of style or no longer fit, donate them to charity or discard them. You should also decide which shoes are only worn on a seasonable basis. For example, you probably only wear your sandals during the warmer months, and you probably don't wear your winter boots in the summer. By finding a different storage location for your seasonal shoes, you'll have additional space to store the ones you wear more frequently.
Space-Efficient Shoe Storage
When you don't have a lot of space, shoe storage solutions which are extremely space efficient can be quite helpful. There are quite a number of shoe storage solutions that can effectively utilize even the smallest of areas. For example, you can increase your shoe storage space by simply hanging an over-the-door style shoe rack inside your closet door. If you've got a bit of space on your closet floor, a small shoe rack with shelves can work well. If your closet is especially small or crowded, a shoe organizer designed to fit under a bed could be the perfect solution. If you have a bed with drawers underneath, this can also be a space you could utilize for shoe storage.
Organize and Protect Your Shoes
No matter how little space you have, it's still important to find a storage method that will keep your shoes organized and protected. You can use plastic shoeboxes to keep your shoes highly visible and yet still dust-free. You can also simply store your shoes in their original boxes, as long as you clearly label them. Simply decide upon an effective organizational strategy, and then stick with it. While some people might prefer to organize their shoes by color, you might find it easier to sort them by style. Whichever method you decide upon, always put your shoes back where they belong when you take them off, so you'll always know exactly where to find them.END AKISMET -->
