Kim Kardashian and her family, including sisters Kourtney and Khloe, just got a veritable earful from Olivia Wilde who's on the cover of the August issue of Marie Claire magazine, and who apparently does NOT keep up with the Kardashians.
The House star traded her scrubs for a bit of glam fashion, wearing a shade of crimson, for her cover girl moment. But this actress is seeing red, too. She told the glossy, "I'd like to refocus everyone's attention away from the Kardashians and onto Doctor Without Borders or aid workers."
She goes on to say: "Let's redefine scandal. Scandal is not who so-and-so is dating..." (Or in the engaged Kim Kardashian's case, who she is marrying.) "Scandal is the fact that 1.2 million people are still living in tents in Haiti, and cholera is rampant..."
Wilde does make a good point, though, and one that's probably not thought about often enough. However, why choose Kim Kardashian and her family to pick on? The Keeping Up with the Kardashians clan may seem a bit immature and frivolous at times, but one cannot argue the entrepreneurial empire they've established and the branding opportunities the sisters have scored.
And, why not reference even more serious reality show train wrecks? Real Housewives and Jersey Shore both come to mind.
Like Kim Kardashian and her sisters, Wilde is part of the Hollywood game, too. And her Marie Claire cover lines? They read: "Olivia Wilde: I'm Dating and I'm Hopeless at It." Hmm... dating, apparently it's not such a bad topic after all.
