There are word games--like Scrabble--that are available in the Android market, but now you can have the official Hasbro version of Scrabble for Android for your phone or tablet. The best part of having the app is that it's free.
Who isn't familiar with the game of Scrabble? You've probably been playing this game since you were a child. However, up until multiplayer games came to the computer and cell phones, you had to wait until you had someone at home with you to play.

TG Daily wrote a little blurb about this game going to the Android market. One thing that is highlighted was that the game could be played across different platforms. Meaning that an Android user would be able to play with opponents who were using an Apple device such as an iPad. You can also play with your friends on Facebook, and invite your friends to join you in play through email.
For those really serious or impatient players, you can play up to 50 different games simultaneously. Scrabble is known as a slow game, and can take several days to play. So it's definitely nice to play more than one person at a time. Since this is a free app, it does have ads. The ads are a bit annoying as they pop up each time your turn is complete.
All in all this is a good app, and would be great for kids of any age. If you play the game in the car while on a trip, just don't be playing while you're driving. Certainly driving at times is boring, but it needs your full attention.
