Random Tattoo Question....

On my way to work this morning, they were talking on the radio how a man got his girlfriends initials tattooed on him, and thent he next day she broke up with him....not because of the tattoo, just because she had been planning on it. Surprisingly, he got the tattoo to surprise her the day she dumped him...

As funny, and ironic, and this story was it made me question myself if I'd ever get Justin's initials/name/birthday or anything like that ever tattooed on me.

Honestly, probably not. Maybe something symbolic of our relationship, but not his initials, birthday or full name.

I think the only time I'd put a name/initial on my body permanently is if it was my kids....

But I was just wondering if you guys have tattooes of your sweetie, or if maybe you have a story of someone who got a tattoo of their sweetie and now they are no longer together.

Just curious!

They say that a tattoo of your significant other is the kiss of death and your relationship will eventually end. I don't really believe that. My husband is going to get my name, just my first name and when he does that I'll get his....I think. i'm not big on tattoos but he is.

That's what I've heard too...and kind of believe I guess. I think if I was ever to get a tattoo, it would only be my kids name(s).

Hubby's going to get them too. Right now though we're saving so he can get one in memory of his granfather. He passed mon Memorial Day this year and they were close

I would never get a name tattoo. I do have small symbols in memory of family members that have passed away.

My dad has his first wife's name tattooed on his shoulder. It's really faded now, though, but he's been married to my mom for almost 39 years, so I guess that makes sense. :)

My husband has our son's full name and birthday on his chest. I would be mad if he put my name on him somewhere. Haha.

Tattoo on me? Never.
I have a 30-somthing nephew that has multiple "body art"
A few months ago he had an interview with
Home Depot; IN THEIR DISTRIBUTION WAREHOUSE.driving a fork lift. Good Pay, good benefits. No dice.
He has "love" and "hate" on his knuckles.
Those words on his hands spoke volumes.....no job for you, dude.

it's a long standing thing you never get someone's name tattooed on you unless they are dead
Images to symbolize them are safe but not the name

not me my body is a temple for GOD if he wanted me to have Tatoos he would of put them there. Plus I'm afraid of Needles I have been poked and had my blood taken enought to last me a life time when I was hit by a drunk driver.

Personally I want a tattoo in fact I have two in mind. I did think about putting my husbands on me. However no way would I of either one of my ex husbands. My now husband has saved me in ways no one would even know. With that being said even if we did split up I would still be thankful for all he has done for me.

Yeah I have two tattoos in mind that I'd like to get....someday lol. But I'm sure I probably won't...I'll probably end up getting different ones lol I think when I have kids someday, I'll want to do something with their names or birthdays or something.

I would never get my husband's name tattoo or any tattoo on my body. Thankfully he doesn't like tattoos either. However, when my brother and sister-in-law were dating, they had gotten engaged (the 1st time) and she got a tattoo with his name. I think a few weeks later they broke up and called off the engagement. I know it wasn't the tattoo that caused them to break up, it was something else, something silly. Then a few months later they got back together and they eventually got married and in a few months they will be celebrating their 12 year anniversary :)

I have no tatoos and would never want one. First of all they rarely look good on the person and they are painful to get.

I got a little one (small heart behind my ear) as my first tattoo, then a few months later got my second (a sparrow with lyrics) on my back...so they keep getting bigger each time lol. But I will say this, getting letting is the MOST PAINFUL thing ever.... ouch.

I would never put another's name on me unless like you said it was one of my kids. but maybe like you said something that would symbol your relationship that you could live with if you ever broke up.
