There is once again a convention this weekend for Supernatural, and of course, there are some teasers being revealed about the upcoming season, including the return of a recurring character who has stayed alive so far.
Another returning character
After the news yesterday that Alona Tal is most likely returning in the upcoming season, now there's a report of another character coming back. Kim Rhodes was on hand for the Salute to Supernatural Convention in New Jersey 2011, and she revealed that she would be returning as Sheriff Mills. She'll be on set July 29, according to reports. That's right after Comic-Con, at which the series will have a panel in Hall H, so perhaps more will be revealed then about her return. Rhodes already has in mind how she wants her character to die, if that happens (and since she's female and on Supernatural, it's a very strong possibility): She "wants it to be bloody and not just her blood." Will she end up going down fighting now that she knows what's really out there and has become part of Bobby's world? She also "thinks Bobby needs a woman who can handle a gun." Bobby does deserve some happiness; he has lost his wife twice now, and it's a good thing he didn't remember what he had with Ellen in the alternate universe of "My Heart Will Go On."
Kim Rhodes has been in two episodes of Supernatural: "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" (season 5) and "Weekend at Bobby's" (season 6). In the first episode, she was one of those in Bobby's town whose relative rose from the dead (in her case, her dead son). In her second episode, which was also Jensen Ackles' directorial debut, she helped out Bobby while the FBI was looking for Rufus Turner while they were in the middle of dealing with an okami. Could she get entangled in Bobby and the Winchesters' world once again in the new season because of something else going on in their town? Will she survive the latest encounter with them, or will she meet an unfortunate fate as has become usual for female characters in this series?
