I am not satisfied with it but we have to realize that this is what the jury decided. This is the fantastic side of our judicial system. If it is not proven "beyond the reasonable doubt", she is NOT GUILTY! There are pros and cons to this system but it is the best in the world. We have to accept the quirks of it.

I agree with Gul. This jury got it right because the state of Florida didn't prove its case BEYOND a reasonable doubt. Is she perfect? Not by a long shot. Did she deserve a fair trial? Yes, even though it meant having a jury from another jurisdiction because some in the community already had their minds made up. The problems I had (aside from the state not proving their case) was where was the body? It's considered evidence and a crime scene in of itself. Let's remember that this trial was not only fair, it was public. I also agree with Gul in that our justice system is not the most perfect system in the world but it's a hell of a lot better than most countries.

no. I think that even though there wasn't enough to convict for murder, what about child neglect? Who doesn't report their child missing for a month? Especially to laugh and dance on a stripper pole.

Remember, the grandparents of this missing child lived in the same home, not upstairs or across the street, in the same walls and floor. I never trusted Casey's father, or her brother. Just me!

Our court is a court of law not public opinion. The fact is that either by shoddy work or just because the prosecution didnt prove their case regarding the murder.

well she gets out on my birthday. I have not really followed this but have read some of the stuff going on if she is guilty she should do time, but her real punshiment will come when she stands before GOD and there will not be any getting out for good behavior for that.

The jury got to look at evidence. They were instructed not to consider hype .... just evidence. Part of me says there is more to this than the evidence bore out ... part of me is greatful this jury had the courage to reach a verdict without vindictiveness. And, IMHO, Nancy Grace should not be calling them names.

Well, the jury has spoken, as has the judge......unfortunately, this morning I had to miss watching it on t.v. (I was out delivering party invitations!) so had to listen later on.....I kind of figured that she'd be released immediately, as she's already served a considerable amount of time and has been a "model" inmate (I think that gets extra consideration).
While we may not agree with the jury, or the verdict, I still say there are far too many unanswered questions in the entire case......and I still think the entire family was involved in this horrendous ordeal.
Of course, Nancy Grace would go "ballistic" over this case.........she always is extremely outspoken and vocal!

Pamela they count the time she has already been in jail and then knock off some time for good behavior. She has been in jail for 3 years.

It's up to the prosecution to prove their case. That's why it is so important to have the indisputable facts of guilt before taking a case to trial. According to this jury this prosecution came up short.

Thank you! The defense does not have to present any evidence, they don't have to call witnesses and they don't have the burden of proof.

I didn't follow it but what I heard makes me think she is guilty, just not reporting her missing child for 30 days alone make me think her guilty. I am stunned by the verdict.

The jury heard all the evidence, not just that which the media cherry-picked for public consumption. They determined that there was not enough evidence to prove that the mother did murder her child. She may or may not have been a bad mother but that is a long way from murder. I'm sorry to learn that so many who weren't privy to the evidence are still determined to hold her guilty of an act she may not have done.

Mayhaps the news would appear with upon her death bed. It is ironic though...she was supposedly accused of having her daughter in pornography chain while now her own lawyer wants to set her up to become a "killer porn star". I Find it rather disgusting...despite what she is. But I guess a person has to do what they must to stay alive she probably has plenty of bills to pay off win or not...

No!!! Although, I didn't watch the proceedings because any death of a child just sickens me, this poor, little girl will NEVER rest in peace. Where is her justice??

Still, this woman will have to answer to God, someday.

I do think the media skewes everything. We will never know the whole story. I believe there is a God and she will have to answer to Him one day. It's not for us to judge.

I feel the ruling is whack-o. What is wrong with that judge? Everything points to her being guilty of something, although we got no evidence that says she definitively killed the child. She lied to all the officers, lawyers, everyone. She knows what happened to her little girl. She had files on her computer telling her how to make chloroform, there was the smell in her trunk, the next door neighbor saw her backing up her car and asked him for a shovel. She didn't seem worried when her child was "missing". If Trevor was missing, I would go nuts. I wouldn't be out partying. If he is 5 minutes late from the bus, I am worried sick. Definitely something going on with that woman and to release her from this with no judgment really is just nuts.

First of all...WTF! Second of all, we need some better jurys who have more experienced in court. And last but not least, we don't need to worry about Casey Anthony. I'm sure a lot of people have already have something in store for her.

I think it will be interesting to see Casey's actions after she is released. Will it be more of a celebration because she was found not guilty, or would she mourning her daughter and wanting to know the truth about what happened (that is if she isn't guilty). And it sickens me knowing the kind of money that's probably going to be thrown at this girl for interviews, book deals, and possibly movies.

I'm not thrilled with the verdict, but I understand there was reasonable doubt.
And just because she was found not guilty, doesn't mean she's innocent

I didn't follow the case very closely but I was surprised by the verdict. The getting out right away with time served doesn't surprise me.

I didnt hear anything about the case until recently. I did find it strange when I heard that she waited a month before reporting her daughter missing. By god if I couldnt find my kids for more then a few minutes I would be freaking out. I do though figure if they proved her innocent that she probably is.
