In the course of a conversation about different situations my husband and his co-workers have encountered during their cab fares, my husband related this story to me.
Cab drivers are used to finding all sorts of items in the back of their cabs. Most of the time, it's insignificant little items that are forgotten.
On this occasion, my husband's fellow cab driver told him that he found a satchel in his back seat with at least $5,000 in it!! Being an honest man, he was able to return it to the rightful owner. This man, pulls out a 100 dollar bill and tells my husband's friend, "Here!!! This is for being so stupid in turning in this money. Go buy yourself a rope and hang yourself!!!"
My husband told his friend, "If I were you, I would've torn that bill up and told him to shove it up his a..!!!!!"
Makes you wonder why some people don't bother to be honest, anymore.

I can at least Sleep at Night!
Yes, my husband friend is a great guy and didn't deserve these ugly words from someone he was trying to help.
That statement Go buy yourself a rope and hang yourself!!!"
Is not nice at all.......
One of my first jobs when I was 18 was at a cab company. I was the personnel department, claims department (for accidents) and lost and found. The cab drivers had to turn in things to me and wait 30 days to see if someone would claim the stuff. Of course, some stuff that people left, we just threw away - like underwear. :) And we always had about 50 umbrellas.
Ha!
Anyways your husband's friend did the right thing and he will be more then paid back in the future for his honesty
