John Cryer was recently involved in a drama that had nothing to do with Charlie Sheen or Two and a Half Men. He rescued an elderly woman who had been trapped in a car.
Yes, it seems the man whom Charlie Sheen once labeled a troll is a hero. Apparently, the sitcom star was driving by the San Fernando Valley farmers'market when he saw an elderly lady sitting in a car that was "so tightly wedged between two others ...[that] she couldn't back out. Another woman had stopped to try to help her, but other drivers kept honking their horns at her to get out of the way. That's when John Cryer took the situation in hand.
"...Jon Cryer drove by in a white Volvo," recalls on eyewitness. "He jumped out and offered to move the old gal's car. She eagerly accepted, and he backed it out expertly."
So, John Cryer saved the day. And his reward? The "old gal" was so grateful that she tried to tip him for his kindness. Seriously. She had no idea that the man who'd helped her out of a, literally, tight spot was a famous actor. Assuming he was just an anonymous good Samaritan, she "pulled out some dollar bills, insisting he take them." Obviously, he politely declined, telling her to give the money to the homeless or a charity instead.
Guess he figured it would take too long to tell her about Two and a Half Men and Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre and Ashton Kutcher and... Obviously, John did the right thing. Otherwise, they'd have been there all day.
Kudos, Chuck. You're a hero for our times.
