Charlize Theron on marriage. Theron told Piers Morgan on his CNN talk show she will never marry. Initially, the actress stated she would consider marrying if the U.S. legalized gay marriage, but now she's thrown that notion out the window altogether.
Theron told Morgan, "I really want for myself a long-term relationship, and I have been in long-term relationships...That's the kind of union that I want...The actual ceremony is not something that is important to me -- but I see the importance for other people."
The actress added, "Some would say because I came from a very troubled marriage...My parents did not have a good marriage, but I don't think it's that."
Considering that 50 percent of all marriages fail, Charlize Theron might be onto something. A committed relationship has all the perks of a marriage, but it's just not on paper! More and more people share Theron's beliefs in marriage. Plus, when things go south in a long-term relationship, there's no ugly divorce to battle through, people simply pack up and leave!
Now, isn't that so much better than a marriage that ends in divorce? Readers, share your thoughts. How do you feel about marriage?
