Rookie Blue has just begun its second season, but apparently they're already looking ahead to a third season and working on casting a new character. Considering how early it was renewed for a second season and how this season started off strong, it's not too much of a stretch to imagine it will be picked up for more.
Another love interest for Andy?
Reportedly the cop drama has a new series regular in mind for a third season even though it hasn't even been picked up yet. And it looks like this new lead could stir up the love triangle a bit, based on what SpoilerTV has to say about the character: "the new lead will be called 'Nick' and sources are telling us that he will be a new rookie (ex-army) and a potential love interest for Andy." Andy already has two guys who want her - her boyfriend Luke and her season 1 training officer Sam. Now that the rookies are on the streets on their own and without their training officers, a romance between Andy and Sam wouldn't be frowned upon, but Andy is currently living with Luke on Rookie Blue. However, things can certainly change quickly before the season ends, especially now that Luke's ex, Detective Rosati, is transferring to the station. Could Andy potentially end up single at the end of season 2 and begin the third with three guys interested in her?
