A North Carolina man recently robbed a bank for $1 in an attempt to be arrested and put in jail. His plan worked, but could there have been another solution to his problems?
James Richard Verone had reportedly suffered from carpal tunnel and could no longer perform the lifting and bending tasks that were required of his job. He felt that his health was declining and needed attention and he could not afford the medical attention he needed. So his solution was to rob a bank and go to jail.
Our Chicago workers compensation attorneys have to wonder if perhaps his carpal tunnel syndrom happened at work. If that was the case he may have been eligible for the benefits associated with a workers compensation claim. Filing workers compensation could potentially have saved him from going to jail.

I am wondering why he didn't think of filing for workmen's compensation.
