According to a UK retailer, the Playstation Vita will be released on November 4 in the United Kingdom. The U.S. release date will fall in line by landing either on that date or just before it. Shopto.net is the online retailer that broke both the release date and the UK pricing for the highly anticipated device. With the revelation, gamers are sure to get even more excited about Sony's newest handheld gaming device.
The PS Vita found its way into E3 a few weeks ago, and the video gaming world has buzzed about the device ever since. Surprisingly, the device is nearly as powerful as a full gaming console. It features a touchscreen, touchpad, PS3 cross functionality, and a powerful processor. Obviously, there is a lot more to the device, including Wi-Fi and 3G capabilities, which will be offered by Sprint.
Shopto.net offered pricing for the handheld device too. For the Wi-Fi version, the Playstation Vita will cost 229.99 GBP. The 3G version will run for 279.99 GBP. That roughly translates to $249.99 and $299.99 in U.S. dollars, which falls in line with what Sony announced at E3. Fortunately, the Vita is competitively priced with the Nintendo 3DS - its direct competitor.
Without a doubt, the Playstation Vita is going to sell well when it is released. Luckily, everyone now knows the almost guaranteed release date of November 4, 2011. Gamers still have a few months to wait, but more Vita capabilities and actual games are sure to be announced in that time span.
