If you are a traditionalist like me you like using a wooden rolling pin.
This is what you need to do when you get that new wooden rolling pin. You need to season it.
Wash your new pin with warm water and mild dish soap. Make sure to rinse it well. Dry completely with a soft cloth.
Give it a light coating of oil and wipe off excess after you rubbed the oil in well.
Next rub with a dusting of all-purpose flour. Be sure to rub the flour in and brush off excess. Allow pin to sit overnight. Repeat process at least one more time before using. The trick is to always remove excess oil or flour.
tip: Keep in plastic bag in frig after seasoning.
