Clarence Clemons of Bruce Springsteen's infamous E Street Band suffered a stroke, and now the members of the band are said to be en route to Florida to be by the saxophonist's side.
According to a report from OK Magazine, Clemons has battled a number of medical conditions throughout the years, but they have never kept him from performing. With the diagnosis of this stroke, members of the E Street Band were "advised to get down to Florida as soon as possible" to be by their friend's bedside.
Hopefully the presence of the E Street Band members at Clarence Clemons' bedside will be the impetus the musician needs to rally. Medical reports have noted numerous times that even comatose patients have responded to the words and even the mere presence of loved ones by their hospital bedsides. It's unclear if Clemons is conscious or unconscious in the wake of his stroke, but either way the love and concern of his friends should be a positive presence.
Clarence Clemons recently performed with Lady Gaga, on a track on her hit album Born This Way. He also performed live with her last month on the American Idol finale show.
There are undoubtedly many prayers being said for Clarence Clemons at this time. Hopefully the appearance of the E Street Band members by his bedside will serve to heighten the prayers and well wishes coming from all over, and motivate the musician to fight extra hard to get well.
