THe UFC 131 results will be coming later this evening, with Dos Santos vs Shane Carwin as the main event in Vancouver. As with other mixed martial arts contests, Ultimate Fighting Championship held the weigh-ins for this event a day before the matches. So how did everyone register on the scales?
According to Yahoo! Sports, there were some interesting differences in terms of weight between the fighters as they stepped on the scales. Shane Carwin came in at 254 pounds, while his opponent Junior Dos Santos was 239 pounds. Dave Herman weighed in at 233 pounds, while Jon Olav Einemo was 261 pounds. The other fighters on the main card were either even weight or within a pound.
As for the UFC 131 live stream matches, Aaron Rosa outweighed Joey Beltran by 14 pounds, 261 pounds to 247 pounds. Krzysztof Soszynski, winner of the "Good Luck Pronouncing that Name" award, came in about 4 pounds heavier than opponent Mike Massenzio (205 lbs to 201 lbs). Otherwise the fighters were even or within a pound. These fighters will all be showcased on UFC's Facebook page, several hours ahead of the main card.
Tonight's 12-bout fight card will be an interesting one with plenty on the line for the main event match. Originally, Brock Lesnar was part of this fight card but had to pull out due to diverticulitis. The winner of Dos Santos vs Carwin will likely be the top contender for Cain Velasquez's championship. Carwin reportedly had to get his weight down a bit via diet and training to prepare for this one, but still has some extra pounds. Will Carwin outweighing Dos Santos give him the advantage tonight, or will Junior show he has more skills in the Octagon?
