Kirstie Alley owes a big tax bill on her Florida mansion—to the tune of more than $40,000. Is the Dancing With the Stars runner-up experiencing financial difficulties?
According to a report from Access Hollywood, the answer is no. Even though some tabloid reports would like you to think that the former Cheers star is about to go bankrupt, that definitely isn't the case.
A representative for Kirstie Alley had the following to say about the $41,395 owed in taxes on her home in Clearwater, Florida:
We were not aware of the amount owed, and her accountant never received the bill.
Chad McLeod, a spokesperson for the Pinellas County tax office, has in fact confirmed that the office has received word from Kirstie Alley's rep saying that a check is on its way.
Oversights can happen to anyone. It doesn't mean there isn't any money or that a person is negligent in handling their finances. Bills get lost and mail gets filtered to the wrong office. Fortunately in this case, it sounds like everything will be taken care of in a matter of a day or two.
Now Kirstie can relax and work on wooing Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who was her dance partner on DWTS. The two have been spotted together in the wake of the dance competition's season finale, and people are wondering if romance is in the air. With Kirstie Alley's svelte new figure, she's awfully hard to resist. Maks, are you listening?
