Jesse James has stepped up to the plate to pay the bill for the dog that his pitbull attacked.
The attack happened this weekend when James' pitbull escaped his bike shop in Texas. The victim was a corgi who just happened to be walking in the neighborhood. The attack left the corgi bloodied and nearly killed him.
The corgi's owner took it upon themselves to counterattack the pitbull who refused to let go of their dog. This seems like something that any panicked owner would do. They are, however lucky that the dog didn't choose to attack them as well for hitting it. Fortunately, the authorities arrived on the scene and were able to release the dog from James' pitbull's jaws.
The corgi's owner rushed him to the vet where he received stitches and a tube to prevent infection. According to the reports it seems the victim will be okay, and Jessie has paid $250 for the victim's vet bills. In addition he's offered to pay for any subsequent bills related to the corgi's treatments.
It's good that Jesse did pay the bill, but with a dog like that it should be watched better or restrained. Yes, accidents happen, and while you can't prevent every accident, it seems that this scenario happens all too often with pitbulls. The attack involving Sam Ronson's dog Cadillac comes to mind here. Similar to Jesse's dog attack, only her dog succeeded in killing its victim.
The wounds look pretty bad in the shot that TMZ has up. Thankfully, it seems that the dog will recover and survive. There is no word if there will be charges brought against James and his dog.
Do you think that the authorities handled the situation properly or should they have investigated the case further and placed charges on Jesse? Weigh in below.

But I think any dog that attacks another animal or human needs to be put down. Not just pitbulls. As even little dogs can do severe damage.
Just ask my oldest boy who was attacked by a miniature pinscher and had his privates tore open. Also peeing blood for the next two weeks following the incident was no pleasure cruise, I am sure of it.
I'm so sorry to hear about your son. It had to have been incredibly painful to go through that. :(
