Are refunds a thing of the past?

I remember years and years ago saving UPC's and getting a great cardboard playhouse for my kids.  It was around that time that I was doing all kinds of refund offers and getting money to buy groceries.

Are there many refunds out now?  I know Kellogg's has one but what other refund offers are you aware of?

I haven't seen those in a long time either. The playhouse reminded me of a cardboard caboose that my sister won in a colouring contest. :) Good times!

I remember stocking up on labels and UPC's. I am glad to have all that junk out of my house!
I try to eat more fresh foods so I use fewer coupons and am eligible for fewer refunds.
I see them for cat food regularly.

I'm like you. I eat differently and use more environmentally friendly products, so I rarely ever do refund offers anymore and only occasionally find coupons I want to use.

I used to refund also. I had penpals all over the US to trade forms and POPs. I used old file cabinets set up in the basement. My kids learned how to file this way ;) It's rare that I see a refund form now, it's usually just for big ticket items.

I'm seeing very few out there anymore. Most just give me cents-off on my next purchase of their product. I remember when they were a great way to qualify for 'xtras' I wouldn't otherwise buy, but for only the cost of the trouble to complete the forms.

I remember when our Pathmark had a giant box full of forms. I hardly ever see a form now. Funny you should mention this - I've been cleaning my file cabinet out of upc;s this week.

I use to do this a lot in the 90s I would see rebate forms everywhere and even traded some of them on my refunding site I had . I never see them anymore and when I do they are online and you can print them , I did one about a year ago for olay products and got 20.00 cash back

Oh yes, they are definitely around! Musselman's has a great offer for all sorts of free gift cards for saving the UPCs off various Musselman's applesauce products.....I've sent in for 3 free gift cards so far!
Rayovac Batteries is having a Cars2 promotion, where, when you buy pkgs. of the SMPs of batteries, you get a code, enter it on a special web site and you can get free movie tickets to the upcoming "Cars 2" movie!!!!!
There are others out now, but can't think of them all........however, I try to post here on Gather when there are new refunds that I'm aware of!

Proctor and Gamble do rebates. Usually I will find forms in grocery stores near their products. It's generally buy $30 in one trip, get a $10 prepaid credit card. I think Con Agra also does rebates from time to time.

With new technolgy, emails, downloads and smart phones for coupons discounts. I am hope the mail order refunds be history. The wait to get the refund was just too, too long.

I used to be big on refunding. I even got our first gas grill with labels. I miss those days because you could get some great stuff. I do think they are thing of the past.

it's so sad .......the rebates are out there but sure not in full force like they used to be.
I know right now there is a Finnesse $2 printable available. I'm upset as that was something I wanted to pick up at Walgreen's this week and then send for the refund but I didn't have the Finesse coupons in my box that were supposed to be out.
I used to have a 4 drawer file cabinet and all my UPC's and such I saved in alphabetical order in manilla folders. I had a box on top of the cabinet that held all my current forms, my receipts and such.
At one time I even had bought a cash register so that I could make tapes for the offers that required those!

CVS used to do rebates and I used to get things for basically free that way but I dont know if they do it anymore. I loved it but am not near that store anymore.
