Kitty Lost (and found!)

Yesterday i woke up and suddenly realized that the screen had been knocked out of one of our bedroom windows...We usually keep this window closed because we know the screen doesnt fit right, but it was in the 90s that night and i guess we threw caution to the wind...literally.

well i ran outside in my pajamas expecting all of our 4 cats to be gone. They are all indoor cats and have either never been out or only very limited incidents in the past. i saw two right outside the door so they must have escaped recently. one, Virtue, started meowing at me but running around when i got near. he was obviously confused and scared. he was meowing so loud it was like he was yelling. i managed to chase him inside again.

Meanwhile the other one i saw, Christmas Tree ( yes thats his name...) took off the other direction and i didnt see him again all day...

all day i was looking around the yard, laying out treats, calling his name (yes i realize how crazy i sounded yelling "Christmas Tree" in the backyard) I usually just complain about this cat because he is fat and lazy while the others are far more personable and friendly. but recently we have been getting along and i was worried sick! i couldnt sleep. i kept waking up in the night and looking out the windows checking for him. There are a lot of dogs in our neighborhood and coyotes in the property behind us...

However at 4:30 AM my wife heard a scratching at the door and there he was! safe and sound besides some burrs in his fur.

im glad to have my little fatty back...
