New! McDonald's Strawberry Lemonade

It is summertime and the heat is on!  Need to cool off?  Perhaps you would enjoy the new Strawberry Lemonade from McDonald's.  Or maybe not.

Sassy found a 'free' coupon in the Parade section of the Sunday paper a couple of weeks ago.  Not to miss out on a good thing ... free cold beverage and another victim for Sassy's Reviews ... she tucked the coupon in her kitty wallet and used it the next time she went to town.

The coupon was for a free 12 ounce Strawberry Lemonade, valued at $1.59.  I could not find the nutrition facts for the 12 ounce lemonade on McDonald's website, just the 16 ounce: 270 calories, 25mg sodium, 61g carbs, 65g sugar, 1g protein.

Oh, yes, that is a lot of sugar.  And it tastes like it, too.  They could not have pried any more sugar into the glass if they had tried.  It is one big icy sugary slush with enough tart lemon juice and strawberry syrup to make it intriguing.  And it is soooo pretty! 

On a scale of one to ten, Sassy awards McDonald's Strawberry Lemonade a 5.  I won't be ordering any more of these, too sweet for me, but I think this is going to be a big seller for McDonald's.  And I expect more variations to be introduced.  Raspberry Lemonade?  Mango Lemonade?  Blueberry Lemonade? I might try 'em!

I love trying new drinks. This sounds so good, but I'm like you and don't really like real sweet drinks. I will probably have to try it for myself as I love lemonade. Thanks for sharing.

I like it a lot I also like their Frappe's also. They just came out with a french Vanilla one I can't wait to try that one.

I like their frozen frappes, too. Very refreshing on a hot day. I hadn't heard about the French Vanilla one. I might be wrong, but I think the only difference in frappe flavors is the bit of syrup they drizzle over the whipped cream. Thanks!

I haven't had one of these yet, despite the fact that there are 3 McDonald's within a mile of me (and they're all busy-all the time!), I try to make going there a special treat. I love the Mc Cafes and I'll probably try this soon. Thanks for your review.

I had one yesterday. I would like it better with out the strawberry flavoring but it is very pretty!

I like the frozen frappes even better than the smoothies. Wish they would come up with a new flavor of smoothie, perhaps peach.

I remember last year between the free coupons for Mc Donald's drinks and Taco Bells free coupons for drinks my kids and I were set everytime we had to go out and shop

Yep! I've never been to a Taco Bell, but McDonalds is fairly generous with their coupons.

Now we've had 1 sweet one and 2 VERY tart ones....it really depends on who makes it and what McDonald's you get it at. The tart ones were MUCH better.

I would really prefer tart lemonades. They really should all measure the ingredients the same. Maybe I will have to try one more at a different McDonald's. Thanks!

I think that the average American's taste preferences have been trained toward the "sickeningly sweet" side of things over the past few decades. They would have to be, considering the amount of high fructose corn syrup in our food supply.

Finally tried this today, nasty nasty nasty. I should have waited and gotten my frozen lemonade from tim hortons but since i was at mcds i figured id try it...bad mistake taste like cheep koolade drink mix or i could have went to taco bell for their mango freeze. darn, what a mistake that was , food was nasty too
