The rumors of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart dating have continuously sold the "Twilight" movies to hungry vampire fans. Now it appears the PG-13 series will take its dramatic turn towards the sexual exploits of Edward and Bella, but will it be too much for a PG-13 film?
The new "Twilight" trailer, unveiled at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, certainly was chock full of scenes involving Pattinson and Stewart "enjoying each other's company." The new movie focuses on their wedding, honeymoon and Bella becoming pregnant with the couple's child. These two young actors continue to be buzzed about and admired by many. They are also showing how much they've grown up by recent movie roles including Pattinson's scenes with Reese Witherspoon in "Water for Elephants," and Stewart's portrayal of a stripper in "Welcome to the Rileys."
While Pattinson says he hadn't seen the trailer, he was certainly on display in a variety of scenes with Kristen Stewart. There was a Taylor Lautner shirtless rage scene thrown in for good measure. However, the movie clearly focuses on Bella and Edward's celebration of their eternal love, while showing viewers how in love they are.
The "Twilight" films are based on popular books by Stephenie Meyer, so these scenes are somewhat necessary in the movie. Relying upon the idea that of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart dating is a smart marketing concept. MTV has no problem promoting sex and even trying to explain how teenage moms have issues via a "Teen Mom" reality series. That's besides the point here though as this is about selling movie tickets and continuing the "Twilight Saga." It will be interesting to see how Stephenie Meyer, the movie crew, Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner promote the film and respond to any critics who attack the film as promoting sex to young movie goers.
