Interestingly, my movie buddy LOVES movies based on comic books, so he lobbied for us to see this movie.
SO much amazing CGI and other special effects!! Such an amazingly beautiful Thor! The story, which I am sure didn't stick closely to the original myth, did help me realize how similar mythology can be - there's the hero's quest, the competition between brothers for the love of the king and the power of being next in line, the interference between "gods" and "men" (or women).
I know so little of Norse mythology, that aside from the names, most of it was new to me. It was fun.
