I love to sky-watch. However, I don't need to watch the sky to know when it is about time for a full moon.
I can always tell when the moon is almost full without even looking at the calendar. My cats start acting quite odd. They cry and run around all night long. They get worse each night until the full moon is past by a few days. I have observed this behavior ever since we got indoor cats.
My Birds knock each other off the perch in the middle of the night during the week leading up to a full moon. They argue with each other and get down right mean.
We live within hearing distance of the emergency sirens. They go off when there is a fire, wreck or other disaster. During the week leading up to a full moon. The sirens can be heard more and more. The crime, weird driving and drug overdoses seem to increase. This is not my opinion. It is fact as the OES office can testify too.
During the week leading up to a full moon, my dog gets extra jumpy. He seems to sense that something is not quite right outside. He barks at the slighted noise and seems to be on edge.
I have also noticed that wild animals get braver and come into the city more during that same week. We live in an area where wild animals are plentiful and for them to get braver is always a concern when you have kids who play outside or if you have to walk your dog in the middle of the night.
I had a friend who was an RN at a Psychiatric hospital. She said that during the week that lead up to a full moon, nobody turned their backs on the patients. She said they would get an unusual amount of new patients as well. The patients would act up during that time.
I have shared my observations and now I want to hear yours.
Do you think the full moon affects us humans, animals or other things?
What have you observed happening during the week leading up to a full moon?
