'The Dark Knight Rises' Movie Villains: Cast...

With The Dark Knight Rises production in full swing, it appears that there will be three or more villains in the new film. It's already known that Tom Hardy will play Bane and Anne Hathaway will play Catwoman, but Matthew Modine will play a third villain.

According to io9 website, actor Matthew Modine will be playing "a politician and a key villain." He'll reportedly be shooting his scenes at a London studio location. Modine's character is said to be named Nixon, with all sorts of speculation about which villain he'll be exactly.

IGN.com speculates that Modine's Nixon could be based on Batman politicians Mayor Hamilton Hill, Mayor Armand Kroll, Wilson Klass, Sebastian Hardy, and/or David Hull. Or he could play a councilman like J. Carroll Corcoran or Arthur Reeves in the new Batman sequel by Christopher Nolan.

Judging on all the news of who's in this third Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, it appears to have quite the ensemble cast. Regardless of who Matthew Modine plays, it sounds like it could be another epic film by the guy who brought forth blockbuster films Inception and The Dark Knight. Both movies were nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture, so you have to wonder if Nolan is capable of doing great work yet again, or if he'll overdo it with this one. The Dark Knight Rises aka Nolan's "Batman 3" will arrive to theaters in July of 2012.
